All quiet ..

On the Eastern front.

So after a nice media "hype" job, we did not go underwater this weekend.

As a matter of fact, it was a typical Mee-am-mi weekend; HOT as hell with the humidity at about Wet.

But we did get to see our local weather media in action.

Went down to SoBe for the daily "Psycho Run" and there they were; 2 news vans, satellite towers a flying, news folks interviewing tourist and taking pictures of this lonely swaying palm.

I love it when they interview Tourist from far away places like Hialeah and ask them for a reaction.

News Person; "so, what did you think about Bonnie"

Hialeah Person; 'Que"

NP; "Bonnie, the storm"

HP; Quien?

NP; "BONNIE!!!"

HP; "oh si Bunny, mi like them, son muy suave"

NP; " there you have it; back to you at the station"

Wet, Wild & Crazy...

and not in a good way.

The WET;
We are in the mist....get it "Mist" of an over rated rain storm.

Now in defense of the rain storm, the track that it was on a couple of days ago is the scary track if you are a long time resident of Mee-am -mi.

These little guys that start that low, that late will be the ones that put an end to Brickell as we know it.

The WILD;
I'm still running; finished day 23 yesterday and took Riley with me (trying to "off" the competition, did not work.........good job "Coconut".) and yes I will be out on the beach at 5:30 today to give it a go....Riley will not be there (he knows better and he's probably counting on the weather to "off" me).

The CRAZY;
All the "Mini's" are here working.
While all the other Realtors are hiding from the "Mist" we are all here and ready to Real Estate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MLS Pictures..

And why I love them.

This picture proves that Realtors should NOT, I repeat NOT take their own listing pictures.

Over the years I have seen all sorts of great photos but this one is classic.

Why would you post this?

The place is a mess!

And you wonder why?

For all who follow this Blog, by now you know the "LOVE" I have for Short Sales and the Lenders who participate in them.

Their ease in following up, their fabulous communication skills and of course their complete understanding of a local Real Estate market from a thousand miles away just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Here's a funny and true explanation of how and why said lenders work the way they do.

Enjoy........

Plastered!

The beauty of working with first time home buyers is that they are..................
hm,..........lets see how I put this...........oh yeah, clueless.

This fact paints me in a very favorable light and allows me to corrupt a new generation of "Bro's" with my unlimited (yet unconfirmed) knowledge of everything home related; kinda of an Old Man's guide to DIY.

Most projects start with "Well you could do it that way BUT in my days..."

We did not have all those fancy power tools.

We did not have Home Depot, we had Saunders.

We did not have electricity, we did every thing by hand.

Well, yesterday I had the pleasure to show my DIY skills to a couple of young lads who grew up wondering where you plug in a hammer.

After mixing some plaster 'By Hand" and applying said compound to wall, I stepped back and showed them the MOST IMPORTANT lesson in all DIY projects.

This lesson has been past down thru generations of "MANLY MAN" and goes something like this;

Me; "Where's the Beer?"

Lads; "Here master Yoda"

Me; " Crack, sip, so did you hear about (insert pointless topic here)"

Lads; "No, please tell Master Yoda"

Me; "Well see it goes like this, Yada, yada,yada.."

Lads; so was she hot?

Me; "smoking"

Kids, it always ends with "was she hot".

Oh, sorry back to the lesson.

Well by now several beers have been consumed, the "Plaster" has dried, cannot be worked on and in short its just one big lump of crap with the only solution, a "BFH" and duct tape.

And

A good handyman.....there Lesson passed on.

On second thought....

Maybe it wasn't the 15yr old scotch that cause my day in "Run Hell" last Tuesday.

Not only do I have to worry about Hurricanes, heat stroke and malicious running mates but now the original occupants of Mee-am-mi are in full force...............pissed off "Skeeters" are making a come back.

Oh how I long for the days of DDT.

Napkin Counters part 2...

Guess what, they are not FAR BAR approved........who would have thunk it?

Oh well there goes another well thought out deal..

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Told Ya.

It must be true.....it's in the Herald; The Lebron factor

Ha, Herald and True in the same sentence!

The Lebron factor

Ok Kids, here we go.....

Last night the Magic City just got hotter (but in a good way), as King James joins D Wade and Chris to make Miami Heat basketball relevant again.

But it's just not about BBall, this will effected the Magic City in ways we have not seen in quite a while.

Sobe will become even more desirable as the "stars" again shine on winter nights.
Downtown will buzz as game nights become all nights and maybe, just maybe the Design District will happen.

The Grove, The Gables, South Miami all are poised for a spike as the sporting nation looks on.

Throw in a contending Miami Dolphins team, add the new "Miami" Marlins stadium and we have the makings of a great revitalization of the Magic City.

Buy now, Buy soon......the "Heat is On"!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, yeah I know the post is a bit "Homer" but I have lived here a long time and I know how this town reacts (consider this inside trading)......

Oh and Sorry Panthers; no one cares, you bailed on Miami and went to "broward".......so 90's!

Napkin Counters....

So you may be wondering how we Big Shot Realtors do big deals?

12 yrs Vs 15 yrs?

Day 6 and I'm feeling like Hell but only worse.

Last night instead of the regular 12yr old "Sip", I had 15yr old "Sip" and my stomach is in "Hurl" mode.

Or it could have been last night's Dinner which consisted of;

1 Cup of Premium assorted nuts
2 15yr old "Sips"
1 Chicken breast
3 Pin Wheel sandwiches
1 slice of Chicken Empanada
4 slices of Cuban Chorizo Omlette (Tortilla)
1 cup of Milk
6 Hershey's Kisses

I've learn my lesson, I should have stuck to the 12 yr old "Sip"

Finished the 8 miles though!!!

Day 4 of the mighty Run brought new "Almost's", as in almost getting blown up

This one involved a small bonfire with small explosives; results on right.
Next year we are going to Georgia!!!

Rain, Rain, Go away

3 days down running on SoBe and so far;

Day 1; Swat team take down right in front of our start point at our start time, Javi almost shot.

Day 2; Hot as hell, Javi almost drops of heat exhaustion.

Day 3; Mother Nature sensing that it's the 4th of July weekend and not wanting to be out done, lets loose her own "fireworks display"; Javi almost hit by lightning.

OH, I just cannot wait for day 4's almost...........
